eet Summer-Rose, 8, from England and Florida.

Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.

I started dancing at the age of 2.5 at my grandma's dance school. I love ballet, tap, Modern, and Street Dance. I am also a member of Hertford Gymnastics Squad and train over 9 hours a week in gym and Acro. I am also an actress, singer and voiceover artist! I’ve recently been cast as the lead voice Lucy in “The Call of Mektoub” release 2020 and have recently been asked to model for Pineapple Dance Wear! The biggest dance brand in the U.K which I’m really excited about! I also have a mini-album due for release in all major download platforms very soon!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?

I work really hard on tricks and new skills and I set myself goals. I tried for months to get my aerial and back handspring and finally after lots of zoom classes and private 1:1s I did it :) I was so happy. Keep working hard and believe in yourself!

What personal limitations if any did you go through in your young career?

I believe if you try hard enough and keep working at what you want to achieve you will get there I’m the end. I have achieved a lot in lockdown that I hadn’t thought was possible.

Has anybody ever tried to limit you on what you could do? If so how did you fight it?

No, I haven’t experienced that yet. I am surrounded by supportive teachers and family who help me and believe in me.

How do you conquer negative talk?

Recently I sent my photo to an Instagram dance page. I received a not very nice message back from one of the “ambassadors” that was on the account and they were really not very nice to me for no reason at all. Then 2 minutes later someone else messaged to apologize and they didn’t know who had written the message. It did upset me at the time as lots of people look up to Ambassadors. I think you need to rise above anything negative and remember always be kind and good things will happen :)

What is your favorite quote?

Follow your dreams, Believe in yourself, and Never give up!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?

I have recently taped for a TV show so I’m hoping to hear some good news! And I’m still recording “The Call Of Mektoub” so that’s keeping me busy!
