6 Black Choreographers
Last week, we looked at some amazing black dancers and their impact on the dance world. This week, we’re looking at some famous black choreographers who contributed to what dance looks like today.
- Alvin Ailey
 
He founded the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

- Camille A. Brown
 
She is the Artistic Director of Camille A. Brown and Dancers and her choreography can be seen on Broadway.

- Frankie Manning
 
He is one of the founders of the Lindy Hop.

- Gregory Hines
 
Not only a well-known actor, this man was also an amazing tap dancer.

- Cleo Parker Robinson
 
She is the founder of the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble.

- Donald McKayle
 
He was one of the first black men to end the racial barrier in modern dance.
